Revelstoke

I just got home after a great trip to Revelstoke Canada for the second stop on the Free Skiing World Tour. The turn out was great and the whole town of Revelstoke made us feel very welcome. From welcome parties to discounts, to an amazing venues we all had a blast. The whole event was so organized and sooo fun.

Day one was the widest venue I have ever seen. 20 female competitors and 52 male competitors qualified to ski the venue and the top 7 females and the top 20 males were asked to ski in the finals. I skied far skier’s left down a technical spine and aired a 20ft perfect cliff onto a perfect landing, and showed the judges how to bend a ski all the way to the bottom. I ended day one in 5th making it to the finals. The fallowing day was a weather day and we all got to check out the resort, which by the way is so sick. By far the longest runs I have ever experienced along with some of the sickest terrain I have ever seen. After a full day of free skiing a bunch of the competitors hit up the bowling ally and went to bed early in order to get ready for the heli drop on top of Mackenzie peak for the finals.

After looking at pictures of the venue and through binoculars I had a good idea of where I wanted to ski but the view from the bottom is always different from the view on top. I skied where I wanted to but I had to stop in the middle of my run in order to wait for the sluff to stop moving so I could see my take off. The judges docked me a few points but I had fun nonetheless. I ended up in 6th place, got a heli ride, and got to ski an untouched venue. It was one of the coolest things I have done and a great way to start off the winter.

Keep checking in to see what happens next as I head to Jackson Hole for the winter.

THINK SNOW!!!
